The BMW Car Club, Ballarat, started life in 2004 as a Chapter of the BMW Car Club of Victoria. The Chapter established a reputation for conducting regular events where all BMW drivers, were welcomed in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. A strong interest in the older model BMW’s developed, along with an appreciation of the newer cars with their amazing technology. All were made welcome and appreciated. After more than three years of operation, members made it clear that the "Chapter" model was proving less than satisfactory and it was decided to attempt to form an independent second BMW Car Club in Victoria, based in Ballarat, but servicing country Victoria. Approval to form the BMW Car Club, Ballarat, was granted at the BMW Clubs Australia meeting on 20th April, 2008. A Steering Committee was appointed initially to establish the Club and apply for Incorporation, with the initial meeting being held on 25th July. Approval to operate under the Vicroads Club Permit scheme was granted on 19th January, 2009. This offers a reduction in cost over normal registration. The aim of the Club is "to enjoy the safe use of our BMW Cars and to promote the Marque." Our members share a passion for BMW Cars, with no distinction between the new and the old. We enjoy a cross section of BMW vehicles on our runs, ranging from 1970 models to the very latest. All are made welcome. Our monthly events vary from a Twilight Run to a local venue during the warmer months, to full weekends away at more distant locations. We also hold dinner meetings, technical workshops and day visits to special locations. Regular electronic communication keeps our members informed. A bi-monthly Newsletter provides a record of past and future events, as well as BMW news and technical advice. Most of our members are couples who share the enjoyment of our cars and the Club. Visitors are always welcome. Please contact any Club member for more information.
